Responsible coastal travel is mostly a habit of attention. Learn which spaces are public, which are working areas, and which habitats need distance. Choose marked trails, use established launch points, and follow seasonal closures even when the shortcut looks inviting.
Spend with intention. A locally owned café, outfitter, bookstore, or market keeps more of the travel value in the community and often gives you better context than a generic list can. Ask before photographing people, boats, or private property.
Carry a reusable bottle, avoid single-use packaging where practical, and take every piece of waste with you. Do not collect shells, driftwood, or stones from sensitive beaches. When you leave, the clearest sign of a good visit should be the memory you carry—not evidence that you were there.
